Master’s program in mobile application development and game design

The new developed Master’s programs will satisfy the following requirements:
- state-of-the-art relevant content, reflecting the requirements of employers and students’ expectations
- teachers apply the best educational methods
- practice-oriented: student participate in real project development
- quality assurance mechanisms, including extensive student surveys
- developing students’ business and entrepreneurial skills in the IT field
- compliance with state standards in Azerbaijan and in the Russian Federation
Each curriculum will be divided into different core modules and ends with a Master’s thesis:
- Mathematics for Game and Mobile Development (common for all tracks)
- Programming for Game and Mobile Development (common for all tracks)
Interdisciplinary modules (specific for each track) - Professional modules (Mobile Apps and Game Design, specific for each track)
- Internship
- Research methods and project design
The main stages and components of the project
- Intensive seminars and trainings in Europe for university teachers – teachers will be acquainted with content and organization of the educational process at EU universities and the best modern state-of-the-art teaching practices
- Questioning undergraduate students and employers using survey question forms to identify labor market requirements and students’ expectations
- Development of new courses and modules, some in English, by implementing key competencies
- Teacher training at universities in Azerbaijan and in the Russian Federation and by colleagues being trained in Europe
- Creating student laboratories at universities in Azerbaijan and in the Russian Federation in order to teach entrepreneurial skills
- Producing on-line training materials for teachers and students and designing a dedicated educational platform
- Conducting summer schools for students interested in the programs’ profile
- Providing student exchange between partner universities
- Disseminating project information through various events and on-line resources
Advantages of the Master’s program for students
- Students will obtain new intercultural experience by the internationalization at their home universities listening to lectures delivered by invited EU professors, by participating in summer schools, by being a member of an international student group developing projects together or by study abroad during one semester.
- Student laboratories will be set up at departments respectively in order to engage students in practical development of projects by using modern equipment purchased within the frame of the project.
- Laboratory staff will gain entrepreneurial skills through train-the-trainer programs and will transfer skills to students during the entrepreneurship training course. The entrepreneurship course will include topics such as developing and they will transfer these skills to students, during the newly developed program course module in entrepreneurship and knowledge of business in the ICT sector. This course module will include topics such as developing a business plan, marketing, manufacturing and sales, but first and foremost creativity issues. The entrepreneurship course will be useful for students launching their own startups.
